As you may be aware, our Branch of the RSPCA has three charity shops based in Ripley, Belper and Long Eaton. These shops are a great way for us to raise money to help support our Animal Centre. Currently, our Branch costs £7,500 a week to run and we have to raise all that money ourselves. As you can imagine, that's quite a task!
Our shops really help us to achieve those goals but to do that they need stock to sell - which is where you guys come in! Already so many of you help us out when you're having spring cleans but we now have a new initiative:
We are hoping to provide companies/social groups with donation bins that their staff/members can use to donate bags of goods. All we ask is for every company who agrees to help us out in this way to collect 10 bags worth of donated goods. This could be worth up to around £300!! Imagine how many animals we can help if this initiative is introduced across Derbyshire! It doesn't matter whether you work in a school, an office, a factory, a big company, a small company - all help is appreciated.
Any donated items would be welcome, including:
- Toys and games
If you have any old items of clothing not suitable for re-sale, don't throw them away! Put them in a bag and mark it 'Rag' - we can make money on those too. That way you're recycling AND helping a local charity. It's a win-win situation!
We will provide a collection service for every company. Usually this will be provided on a Friday but this can be discussed. If your company may be interested in helping us out and would like further information, please call Victoria on 01332 344620 or email her here. Have a look at this page for further information.
