The Mews: 3rd to 9th November

Nov 11, 2014

Miaowy Greeting everybody - it's Sir Felix here!

Well it certainly has been a bit of a miserable week weather-wise. It feels as though the start of winter is truly upon us and I don't know about you, but I definitely haven't been enjoying the rain recently. Getting caught in a downpour is not amongst my favourite activities!

Anyway - on to the Mews!

Headlines

The Centre launched their #furryfaceselfie campaign! We've asked people to send a #furryfaceselfie of their pet and donate just £1 to the Centre by texting FURR45 £1 to 70070 - so far the campaign has raised £200. Can't wait to see how far it goes! Have a look at all the paw-some pictures submitted so far here

Began selling tickets for the Centre's Christmas Raffle! Prizes include: Ferrari Thrill Voucher, 2 x Pollyanna Pickering prints, Darleys Restaurant Voucher, Marks & Spencers Hamper, Thorntons Hamper and many more! Buy your tickets at any of the Branch's charity shops or in the Animal Centre.

Arrivals

14 animals arrived on site this week: 2 birds, 6 cats, 5 dogs and 1 rabbit.

Adoptions

There were 17 adoptions last week, including MingMing. MingMing is an older, more refined fellow, like me really! His owners moved away and left him to fend for himself. The poor chap was very despondent when he arrived but he wasn't here for long before he was snapped up! Luckily some people are realising just what purrrfect pets older cats can make.

Special Feature

Two of the dogs who were left with us in quite sad circumstances are still looking for their new homes. Gwen, the dog who was dumped outside our Centre, and Lola, the dog who was given away via Gumtree, still haven't found their forever home. They are such lovely girls and, after their difficult starts in life with owners who don't appreciate them, they deserve the very best that life has to offer.

On that note, this is Sir Felix signing off!
