Our Charity Shops
As a self-funding charity we are always looking for ways to generate income for our Abbey Street Animal Rehoming Centre. One of our key ways is via our retail charity shops located in Long Eaton, Belper and Ripley.
All three of our charity shops sell a variety of second hand and new goods. However the majority of the money raised comes from goods that have been donated to us. We rely on the generosity of our supporters so donate their unwanted items as we are not connected to a central distribution centre, which many larger charities operate.
So if you’re having a clear out, whether it is clothing, household items including electrical items, furniture, books or toys then please think of us! Even if you have clothing, linens or towels that have seen better days we can recycle that too!
You can drop your donated items directly to the shops or into reception at our rehoming centre on Abbey Street. If you have a large amount of donations or furniture we can collect those from you. If you have a large items that you would like to donate then please call either Victoria or Leanne at Abbey Street on 01332 344620.
Become a Retail Volunteer
If you don’t currently have any unwanted items, could you spare a few hours and volunteer at one of our shops?
Our volunteers are one of the main reasons our shops are so successful. Each one of our shops has a faithful group of volunteers who help out with the everyday running of the shops. Whether it is helping to sort donated items, filling the shelves and rails or manning the till, the role our volunteers play in the shops is invaluable.
If you have a few hours to spare and would like to join our retail volunteer teams please call into the shops and ask to speak to the manager or email Leanne at the Centre – firstname.lastname@example.org.
