Looking for a Hero

Feb 28, 2015

It was a cold morning in December that found Finley and Paddie, two Staffordshire Bull Terriers, tied up outside our Centre. They were both young dogs - Paddie was only around 4 months old - and in a terrible condition.

FinleyBoth dogs were very underweight, and were tied up using harnesses that should have fit them but instead hung from them. They also had a severe skin condition as a result of mites, which led to two months of intensive treatment. Luckily they were in the right place to be treated, but their condition could have completely been avoided with early veterinary intervention and basic hygiene and care in their previous home.

After lots of TLC and medicated baths, both dogs were back to a good condition and Paddie was quickly snapped up by his new owners, who adore him.

Sadly for Finley, he hasn't been so lucky. Finley is only around 2-4 years old but, most likely as a result of his past, he already suffers from arthritis in his back legs. This is currently controlled by pain medication and we are searching for a special home who are happy to continue his treatment to give him a comfortable life.

Finley is such a happy soul who adores people and in general gets along quite well with other dogs. After his past he deserves all the happiness in the world! Due to his arthritis it is expected that he perhaps won't have as long a life as he would have done without this condition, but that's why we're determined to find him a home where he can enjoy all life has to offer him.

Are you the person to give him that? Have a look at Finley's profile for more information and to get in touch with us. Finley is now a media star after appearing in the Derby Telegraph!
