Volunteer Customer Service Assistant - Long Eaton Charity Shop

Available shifts (AM 8.30-12. PM 12-3.30) - Monday PM, Tuesday AM & PM, Wednesday PM, Thursday AM & PM, Friday AM & PM, Saturday AM & PM. 

Age requirement – 18+

  

Main Responsibilities  

  • Talking to customers and making them feel welcome in the shop.  

  • To assist the shop manager in day-to-day tasks.  

  • Serving customers in a polite, friendly and helpful manner both face to face and on the telephone.  

  • Advising and helping people as they shop.  

  • To be involved in till operation and handling cash.  

  • Answering customer enquiries.  

  • Accepting donations and asking about Gift Aid. 

  • Keeping an eye on the security of the shop.  

  • Keep the serving counter area clean and tidy at all the times.  

 

General Responsibilities  

  • Telephone/email the shop manager as soon as possible if unable to fulfil your commitment so that replacement cover can be arranged.  

  • Adhering to all shop policies and procedures, maintaining strict confidentiality at all times.  

  • To adhere to the Volunteer policies and procedures including Health & Safety.
