Potential adopters must be able to fill out the necessary paperwork online
Please be patient with replies we are currently working with limited staff
If you have not heard from us after completion of a 'Perfect Match' form within 2 weeks then please assume you have not been successful in rehoming an animal at this time (the reply may be longer if you are enquiring about adopting a kitten)
We are not currently open for general viewings of animals. Once you have completed a Perfect Match form and have been matched with an animal, an appointment can be made where necessary to meet that animal prior to adoption.
Please note: All our dogs are unique and are carefully assessed so that we know what they will need in their new home. If your application shows that your family or your home do not meet the specific requirements of a particular dog then unfortunately you will not hear from us as we will not be able to progress your application.
Thank you for your understanding and support during this time.
The role of Derby & District RSPCA is to provide help & support for animals & their owners from Derby & the surrounding area. Our work is invaluable to the lives of the many animals that have suffered from cruelty or neglect.
Every year, over 1,000 homeless animals are brought in to us. We do our best to find loving homes for all of them.
It can take weeks and sometimes months to rehabilitate animals. Our staff and volunteers work hard to ensure every animal that comes through our doors will find their 'perfect match'.
The Abbey Street A-list need some extra special care and attention. Please have a read of their stories and support them in any way that you can.

Hi there, I'm Trigger! I am currently staying with a fosterer but I think it's time I found my forever home. I haven't had an easy time lately - when I came to Abbey Street I had a lump on my leg. It was removed but unfortunately it was cancerous and it could potentially return in the future. I am all recovered from the operation now, and I am focusing on playing with my toys and getting as many cuddles as possible! I am a survivor after all! I've heard that I'm very good in the home and I know I would make the best companion, so please do apply to adopt me today - I promise to love you unconditionally!
Please don't scroll past me! I know I'm not the most photogenic cat, but I really want to find someone who can look past my appearance and give me a chance. My name is Admiral, and I am a true outdoorsman. I am quite scared of humans, so I would like to live outside full time (though I would need to spend a bit of time in a secure building while I get used to my new home). I love being in nature and my ideal home would be a farm or stables where I can spend my time keeping pests at bay. In return, all I ask is for one meal a day and a warm bed to call my own. Please do get in touch if you can offer me my forever home.
Hello! I'm Catalina and I live with my friend Luciana. We are very close and would like to find a home together. We have been looked after by a fosterer and she has been helping us gain confidence - she says treats are the way to our hearts! We love running around the room and climbing on our fosterer - Luciana especially loves getting on her shoulder to play in her hair! We would like to find a forever home with someone who has previous experience of caring for Chinchillas. If you can open your heart and home to me and Luciana, we promise to give you lots of love and laughs in return.
