Potential adopters must be able to fill out the necessary paperwork online
Please be patient with replies we are currently working with limited staff
If you have not heard from us after completion of a 'Perfect Match' form within 2 weeks then please assume you have not been successful in rehoming an animal at this time (the reply may be longer if you are enquiring about adopting a kitten)
We are not currently open for general viewings of animals. Once you have completed a Perfect Match form and have been matched with an animal, an appointment can be made where necessary to meet that animal prior to adoption.
Please note: All our dogs are unique and are carefully assessed so that we know what they will need in their new home. If your application shows that your family or your home do not meet the specific requirements of a particular dog then unfortunately you will not hear from us as we will not be able to progress your application.
Thank you for your understanding and support during this time.
The role of Derby & District RSPCA is to provide help & support for animals & their owners from Derby & the surrounding area. Our work is invaluable to the lives of the many animals that have suffered from cruelty or neglect.
Every year, over 1,000 homeless animals are brought in to us. We do our best to find loving homes for all of them.
It can take weeks and sometimes months to rehabilitate animals. Our staff and volunteers work hard to ensure every animal that comes through our doors will find their 'perfect match'.
The Abbey Street A-list need some extra special care and attention. Please have a read of their stories and support them in any way that you can.

Adopt me with a friend
Hi, I am looking for a home with my five sisters! We are gerbil size and we want to stay together as we LOVE living in groups. We want lots of space in our accommodation as we love to climb and jump but just so we are really clear with you we like to be active at night! We like pellet food but also like everyone we want an occasional treat, such as fresh fruit and vegetables. Do you have space for me and my sisters?
Hi, Max here. I am an older chap and almost completely blind but I don't let that get me down and I can ALWAYS sniff out a treat! My hearing isn't what it use to be but I enjoy life and human interaction. As I said I am getting on a bit now so would like a quiet retirement home, with no children or even ones that visit. As you can imagine being blind and nearly deaf can make me a bit uneasy around other animals, so please only apply adopt me if you have a pet free house. I am generally easy to please, give me a garden, some love and treats and I will be your magical Max.
