London Marathon 2027 Terms and Conditions
RSPCA Derby - 2027 TCS London Marathon Charity Place Terms & Conditions
Thank you for your interest in running the 2027 TCS London Marathon for RSPCA Derby! Before you sign up, please read the following Terms & Conditions carefully. Please also read the T&Cs of the event organiser.
1. Eligibility
You must be aged 18 or over on the day of the marathon (25 April 2027).
You must be medically fit to take part and accept full responsibility for your health and training.
2. Registration Fee
A non-refundable registration fee of £50 will be required to secure your charity place if you are successful.
This fee cannot be counted towards your fundraising total.
3. Fundraising Commitment
You agree to raise a minimum of £1750 (excluding Gift Aid) for RSPCA Derby.
You shall not use the charity place to raise money for another charity.
You will need to raise a minimum of £1000 by 15 March 2027 (6 weeks before race day).
The full amount must be raised by 7 June 2027 (6 weeks after race day).
If you haven’t been able to raise a minimum of £1000 by 15 March 2027, we reserve the right to withdraw your place or defer your place until 2028.
Match funding by your employer will count towards you target.
4. Fundraising Guidelines
You agree to fundraise ethically and legally, and to make it clear to donors that you are raising funds in aid of RSPCA Derby (registered charity number: 222620).
If you're unsure whether a fundraising activity is allowed (e.g. raffles, collections), please contact us for advice.
5. Setting Up Your Fundraising Page
All runners must set up an online fundraising page (Just Giving or Enthuse).
You're welcome to raise offline donations too, just make sure you add them to your 'offline donations' on your fundraising page.
If you need help setting up your page or writing your fundraising story, our team is here to support you.
6. Gift Aid – Important Information
Because RSPCA Derby is covering the cost of your marathon place, Gift Aid cannot be claimed on donations from people who are “connected” to you. This includes:
-
Your spouse or civil partner
-
Your parents or children
-
Your grandparents or grandchildren
-
Your siblings
This is a rule set by HMRC for sponsored events where the charity covers some or all of the cost of participation.
Gift Aid can be claimed on donations from people who:
-
are not "connected" to you,
-
are UK taxpayers,
-
are donating their own money,
and
-
are not receiving anything in return

7. Withdrawal
If you are no longer able to take part, you must let us know in writing as soon as possible.
Your registration fee is non-refundable, and your charity place cannot be transferred.
If you withdraw after the official 2027 London Marathon deadline for charity place transfers (usually in January), your place may be deferred until 2028 - final decisions about your place will be at our discretion. Please get in touch with us as soon as possible and we’ll review the situation on a case-by-case basis.
8. Use of Your Image
While RSPCA Derby won’t be attending the marathon in person, we’d love to celebrate your achievement!
We encourage you to share any photos or videos during training and on the day, whether taken by yourself, your supporters, or official photographers.
By sending or tagging us in your photos, you give permission for us to use them on our social media, website, fundraising materials, and other promotional content.
If you'd prefer not to have your images used, just let us know, we’ll always respect your wishes.
9. Data Protection
Your personal details will only be used for the administration of your place and fundraising.
We will never sell your data or share it with third parties without your permission.
10. Liability
You acknowledge that taking part in the 2027 TCS London Marathon is physically demanding and carries an element of personal risk.
You are responsible for ensuring you are medically fit and adequately trained. If in doubt, please consult your GP before registering.
RSPCA Derby is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage you suffer as a result of your participation, unless caused by our negligence.
We cannot accept responsibility for any changes made by the event organiser (London Marathon Events Ltd), including cancellations, route changes, or schedule adjustments.
