In memory of Margery G. Hickinbotham

Authored on: 13 March 2023

In January, we were contacted by the family of Mrs Hickinbotham after she sadly passed away. Her family knew how much she loved animals, particularly her cats, so they wanted the contents of her house to benefit a local animal charity. We arranged to visit the house so we could plan which of our charity shops would be best to take the various items.

It took us plenty of people-power and van runs over the course of a week and we were able to pick up lots of really great quality items, including some brand-new clothes and electrics.

The goods were sent to our shops, and our customers have been impressed with the quality and range; much has already sold which has helped us exceed our shop targets - really unusual for this time of year!  The funds raised are enabling us to buy in supplies in anticipation of kitten season, provide medical treatment to a several unwell animals that have recently arrived at our rehoming centre and care for a mum rabbit and her 7 young kits.

We would like to thank the family of Mrs Hickinbotham for their support and generosity, and hope to meet some of them in-person this year.

Below are some of the items in our charity shops.
