Tara's adoption story
Authored on: 03 July 2024
Tara, a sweet and gentle 3-year-old cat, came to us at the start of March as her previous owner was unable to keep her. She quickly made friends with everyone she met and loved to spend her days following our staff around and 'helping' us do our jobs. We were absolutely thrilled to find her an amazing forever home with adopter, Terri.
A few months on and Terri got in touch to tell us how Tara was getting on and to let us know she had decided to remember us in her will.
Terri said "Tara settled in really well. We enjoy taking naps together and she is like my little shadow. She is the sweetest little cat ever and I will be forever grateful to RSPCA Derby for helping me find my perfect match. Our personalities mesh perfectly and we have so much in common - mainly loving food, fuss, snuggles and sleeping. My little shadow is my bestie and I can’t imagine life without her.
"I am so grateful for and so happy with the entire process of the adoption. I had a lot of questions before I met her and they were all happily answered and I was never made to feel silly or overly anxious by the team. I would give the team and whole experience 10/10 and more if I could. So much so that when I write my will, any money I have will be split between RSPCA Derby and the PDSA who treated Tara when she was a little under the weather.
"Thanks to all at RSPCA Derby for all that you do. You are absolutely amazing! 😻"
