Well done to our winners!

We are thrilled to announce that not only were Casper and Heidi crowned RSPCA Derby Best in Show by Sir Tony Robinson and Holly Berry, they also went on to win national RSPCA's live final on Saturday! 

Everyone at Abbey Street is so proud of them!

Here is why Casper was the 'Best Lockdown Buddy' for Heidi;

"Casper came from your Derby branch as a little snow baby 10 years ago. Since then he has been my constant companion and friend. Never more so that over lockdown, he helped me survive being stuck at home and got me out walking three times a day. I became very sick in June and was finally diagnosed with a brain tumour, which was removed in an ear to ear craniotomy in November. When I returned from hospital, he never left my side and gave me the focus to get back on my feet and back to health. In February he helped me raised £1,710 for Brain Tumour Research by being my walking companion for my 10,000 steps a day challenge, which we usually doubled. He has helped me recover and get back to full strength. I owe my dog everything! He is my best friend."
